Khen Shish: Deliberately Random

Ticho House

  • Date iconSeptember 6 2020 - October 15 2020
  • Curator: Timna Seligman
  • Designer: Tom Direktor
  • Artist: Khen Shish

In her new body of work, Khen Shish investigates the relationship between randomness and intention, as she creates through a process that recalls the Rorschach test used in psychology. Shish pours paint or ink on a page, which she then folds in half to produce amirror image. Taking the result as her starting point, she completes the work, whether by adding gold leaf or actual myrtle leaves, or by using photographic and print techniques.
