The 2018 London Design Biennale focused on the topic “Emotional States”. “Exposed Nerves”, the Israeli Pavilion was a co-production of the Israel Museum and the Shenkar College of Engineering, Design, and Art. “Exposed Nerves” a multidisciplinary rapid-response design studio whose reflective design concept highlighted issues of identity, culture, and society. The studio featured four designers and two curators at any given time, with the creative process, as well as the discussions, sketches, and conclusions, all open to the public.

Nurith Goshen, Curator of Chalcolithic and Bronze Age Periods in the Archaeology Wing, and Sharon Weiser-Ferguson, Curator in the Wing for Jewish Art and Life, were among the four co-curators of the Israeli Pavilion. The curators experimented with onsite curatorship as they used the materials generated in the studio for a dynamic and reflexive exhibition.
