From the Venice Biennale to the Israel Museum

Aircraft Carrier attracted considerable attention when first presented at the Israeli Pavilion in the 2012 Venice Architecture Biennale. Taking its title from words spoken by Alexander Haig, US Secretary of State under Ronald Reagan – “Israel is the largest American aircraft carrier in the world that cannot be sunk“ – the exhibition traces the accelerated influence of the United States on Israeli society beginning in 1973, as manifested in Israeli architecture and public space.
