The jug on display was uncovered in the tomb of a Canaanite warrior, where it had been deposited along with other burial gifts: pottery, weapons, and animal bones, including those of a donkey. The design of the jug is exceptional, and although clay indicates that the jug was produced locally, to date, no similarly designed vessels have been found in the region. The contemplative look of the warrior stands in star contrast to the spirit of the warrior that was buried with the jug.
