Archaeology/Chalcolithic & Canaanite Periods

Among the more modest testimonies to the Egyptian presence in Canaan is the Egyptian and Egyptian-style pottery that came to light in large quantities in the military and administrative strongholds. Some of this pottery was imported from Egypt. Most, however, consisted of coarse, mass-produced household items made in Canaan for the Egyptians stationed there by Egyptian craftsmen or by the local potters they trained.
