Raised silver thread and wool embroidery on silk damask, silver strips woven into ribbons; silk appliqué, tassels of intertwined metal and linen thread, linen lining

Inscribed in Hebrew: "Crown of Priesthood," "Crown of Torah," and "Crown of Royal[ty]" (Mishnah, Tractate Avot 4:13). Below: "And the cherubim shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the valance with their wings" (Exodus 25:20), "On the first day of Shevat [5]526 [1766]"; "The golden lamp" (Exodus 25:31-38); "A laver of brass" (Exodus 30:18); "Tablets of stone" (Exodus 24:12); "The shewbread" (Exodus 25:23-30).
