The Israel Museum and its International Council are proud to host the XIII World Congress of the World Federation of Friends of Museums (WFFM) on September 21-26, 2008 in Jerusalem. The WFFM is an international non-profit organization that represents some two million individual Friends of Museums, grouped in national federations as well as in numerous single associations throughout the world. The enrichment of museums and the safeguard of cultural heritage are central to its activities. Since its first international triennial congress in Barcelona in 1972, WFFM congresses have been held successively in Brussels, Florence, Birmingham, Paris, Toronto, Cordoba, Treviso, Oaxaca, Sydney, Buenos Aires and Seville. We are honored that Jerusalem is the venue of the 2008 International Congress. This is a wonderful opportunity for local friends and members of the Israel Museum to connect with friends of museums from other countries. To facilitate your participation, a reduced registration fee for Israeli residents is being offered.
The Congress, which will take place at the Inbal Hotel in the heart of Jerusalem, will be marked by a rich program of academic sessions and a variety of special events including the opening of the international art happening in Tel Aviv, “Art TLV.”
