This concert is devoted to medieval and early-Renaissance music. Pieces from France, England, Italy, and even Greece evoke the unique atmosphere of the period. The program includes 14th-century Italian dances (istampitta), incorporating secular compositions for two and three voices by Francesco Landini, such as balata and virelai; music by 15th-century Greek composer Leondritis; and renditions of early 17th-century Renaissance madrigals. The performance will end with early Baroque sonatas by Castello and Frescobaldi. Dort Florentine: recorder, Gil Evron: classical guitar, Uri Dekel: percussion.
