We are happy to present a Contact Point special edition
in conjunction with The Jerusalem Season of Culture
Contact Point
Now in its fifth year, Contact Point returns to the Israel Museum, where you are invited to join in a vibrant artistic nighttime experience on Thursday, July 10, from 8 pm – 3 am. Come to the Museum when the gates stay open until the wee hours of the morning, to encounter a giant elephant in the Art Garden, climb on the night-lit Big Bambú installation, watch dancers writhing on the museum floor, and join a procession of colorful masks.

Tribute to the Floor
Our eyes are drawn to the museum wall, as we look and react to works hung at eye level. Today we are asked to lower our gaze to the floor. "Tribute to the Floor" is a spatial work for fourteen figures conducted by Sharon Zuckerman Vizer. You are invited to follow the troupe of dancers as they writhe over different floors, pulling in your gaze with their movement to different areas of the Museum throughout the evening.

Big Bambú At Night
The Big Bambú installation turns into a huge whispering sound box as artist Yaniv Shentzer stands beneath the bamboo branches. He will produce a sound track comprised of recordings, voices, and a variety of pre-recorded sounds collected over the years and blended with live music. As the sounds permeate the installation via loundspeakers nestled within the structure, you can climb around and listen as the 'bamboo creature' comes to life.

The Journey. Ania Bukstein
The private journey of singer and actress Ania Bukstein moves between memories, languages, and dreams, becoming a personal and intimate musical performance, taking place in the exhibition Journeys.

The Wild Tailor
When Miki Ohana, the Wild Tailor, exchanges ink for thread, pencil with a sewing machine to replace the canvas with a 20 meter long cloth – amazing things happen. Ohana will sew spontaneous drawings in black thread and will stretch the huge strip over the Museum floor, challenging the boundaries of the material and the definition of painting.

The fifth annual Contact Point  Wi Fi party is back this year to jolt your evening with 1500 earphones, two DJs, at the foot of Anish Kapoor's sculpture surrounded by nighttime Jerusalem.  All you need to do is choose between DJ Amir Egozi and DJ Giora Yisrael.
