David Ibgui, Chief Curator of the Youth
Wing, has completed his tenure at the
Museum after thirty-two years on the
Museum staff, in order to begin working
independently as a consultant in the field
of museum education. Over many years,
David served the Youth Wing as a highly
respected educator and curator and, in
his capacity as Chief Curator over the
past three years, continued the Wing’s
impressively long tradition of excellence in
art education. While the search for David’s
successor as Chief Curator takes place,
Eldad Shaltiel, Curator of Art Courses,
serves as Acting Chief Curator.

Dr. Silvia Rozenberg, Senior Curator of
Classical Archaeology, has published the
fourth volume in the series of reports on
the Jericho excavations carried out since
1973 by a Hebrew University team led by
Prof. Ehud Netzer. The finds of the Jericho
excavations, many of them part of the
Israel Museum’s permanent archaeological
display, are outstanding in both quality and
quantity. This impressive volume, entitled
“Hasmonean and Herodian Palaces: The
Decoration of Herod’s Third Palace at
Jericho,” includes finds belonging to the
interior decoration of the palace.
