This cornice fragment is one of the most beautiful examples of Romanesque Crusader sculpture to have reached us. The Youth's stylized hair falls in wavy, vividly sculpted curls. The face, however, is designed in an exaggerated, grotesque style, exhibiting full, fleshy lips and bulging eyes.
