These pieces clearly belonged to an item of jewelry-possibly a belt or necklace. They are made of delicate filigree, formed from two wires decorated with granules of different sizes and balls of beaten gold-leaf. The black bears tiny gold bands to strengthen the filigree threads. Digital presentation of this object was made possible by: The Ridgefield Foundation, New York, in memory of Henry J. and Erna D. Leir |
