Sakiz, Kurdistan 19th century Leather; wood, carved and engraved Inscribed in Hebrew: On one side, “Atonement for our sins, pardon for our infractions, forgiveness for our crimes”; on the other side, the initials of the sentence “Yet they deceived Him with their speech, lied to Him with their words; their hearts were inconstant toward Him; they were untrue to His convenant” [Psalms 78: 36]; “three times”; and the initials of the sentence “For the sin we have commited because of the evil inclination” from the Yom Kippur prayers.
