The motifs adorning the back plates of this Hanukkah lamp include emblems that commemorate event in the history of central European Jewry. The lamp commemorates the granting of civil rights in 1781 with a bust of Emperor Joseph II and the double-headed eagle that served as the Austrian emblem.
