Rare goblet
Ein Samiya, near Ramallah Intermediate Bronze Age, 2300-2000 BCE Silver Staff Archaeological Officer in the Civil Administration of Judea and Samaria Accession number: K2919 |

This elaborate goblet, found in a tomb, stands out sharply against the rather simple finds of the period. Probably an heirloom from Syria, its decoration reveals a rich artistic world of humans, hybrids, and serpents, based on the mythology of the land in which the goblet was created. Digital presentation of this object was made possible by: The Ridgefield Foundation, New York, in memory of Henry J. and Erna D. Leir |
