A pair of Queen Anne/George I silver tazzas, one by Alice Sheene, the other bearing the maker's mark B.A., London 1714 (Brittania standard), both engraved with armorials. Salvers of this early form were intended for the service of food and drink, as stands for covered cups, and as objects in toilet services.
