The first Jewish artists – painters and sculptors born and active in the 19th century – sought to reconcile their Jewish values with classical themes in art, including nudity and Christian motifs.
This exhibition features works by such artists as Moritz Daniel Oppenheim , Isidor
Kaufmann, Maurycy Gottlieb, Isaac Ilyich Levitan, and Mark Antokolski.
