The Wolf Prize fpr Painting and Sculpture 2002/3 was awarded to the artist Louise Bourgeois for her work that "has sustained aesthetic and formal innovation, intellectual complexity, and contemporary relevance" for over six decades. Pair, on loan from the Chantal and Daniel Milmans collection, is one of the rare examples of her work in an Israeli collection. The two semi-anthromorphic shapes reflect Bougeois' preoccupation with the interplay bewtween male and female.
