September 4, 1990-December 19,1990
Location: Nathan Cummings Building for Modern and Contemporary Art
LIFE SIZE: A Sense of the Real in Art: The exhibition encompasses the work of 40 artists, relating to the late 1980s tendency towards the adaptation of commodities and the media. Earlier generations of artists such as Duchamp, Beauys and Warhol are examined in the light of their impact on recent art. Functional objects are displayed alongside works of art in order to consider the display of art today.
