Michael Gross: Recent WorksFebruary 27, 2002-July 20, 2002
Location: Ayala Zacks Abramov Pavilion for Israeli Art
Artist: Michael Gross
Curator: Yigal Zalmona
Media: Painting and sculpture
This exhibition paid homage to Israel Prize laureate, Michael Gross (born 1920), presenting paintings and sculptures, most of which date from the previous decade. The works bear testimony to his great vitality and emphasize the inner tensions — between spiritual asceticism and stormy sensuality. Considered one of the great painters and sculptors of modern Israeli art, Michael Gross has exhibited internationally in such venues as The Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Sao Paulo and Venice Biennales, and the 9th Kassel Documenta.
