"The Landscape Chose Me": Drawings by Anna Ticho

September 7, 2004-December 13,2004
Location: Ticho House
Curator: Irit Salmon
Media: drawings
"I didn't choose the landscape - the landscape chose me", Anna Ticho said on her arrival in the Land of Israel. She was entranced by the local light, nature, and people, and was captivated by the land's monumental beauty. Thicho's works display the deep connection she felt with Jerusalem, as both a geographical and spiritual location. She began sketching as an outside observer, but through the years she achieved the total empathy and identification illustrated in her final drawings. This exhibition includes watercolors and pastels, many of which are on display for the first time.
